Below is an old image that I shared 2 years ago on the website and forum. A farmer in bakote ploughing the land using the traditional method of Hal (bullock ridger) & Bulls. People of this area had plough land using this ridger for decades after decades but it looks like its days are counted already and like many other traditional things we have to say good bye to this hand made machine. I only once had a chance to plough land with bullock ridger and that too only for couple of minutes but I am sure most of you people had used this for countless number of hours.

So incomes the Japanese technology to replace ridger and you can sit on your chaarpai or chair have a cup of tea or smoke a cigarette and pay a handsome amount (Rs 400/hour) to tractor owner and watch your land plough. In every field of life technology has replaced traditional machinery like Janndar (Stone Mill) is replaced by electronic mills, same is the case with bullock ridger. The only thing I liked about tractors is that it is building interest in people towards agriculture because of its ease of use.

Japani Technology ka Shahkar
And if only tractors were not enough you now got thrashers as well. As the wheat thrashing season arrives you will find many thrashers entering bakote via Nathia Galli bakote road.

New technology in agriculture is becoming popular in our area becoz it is economical and efficient…but we must preserve the old culture and tradional methods and equipment of agriculture to pass it to our future generation. This will help them to keep in touch with thier past.
