Foreword: “Heroes are not born they are trained”. If we take the task of education with this objective I am sure we can make a difference. You are well aware of the current alarming situation of Aliabad and is getting worse. Let us join our hands with Prof. Akhtar Hussain to help improve the situation through education as he has played a key role and has already taken some steps in this direction. Let us do something before we are too late!! Let us, all together, enlighten the darkness of ignorance through purposeful education otherwise we would be held responsible for all this mess on the Day of Judgment. By doing good home work around the ideas generated in our mind, I am sure we can make a difference in this area which could lead to the overall development of community and the society at large. To this end, good organization would play a key role in our success. Therefore, in the first step, let us organize ourselves under the umbrella of Aliabad Education Foundation (ALEF) [1]. As Lt. Nisar, one of the directors of ALEF, mentioned elsewhere “The Aliabad Education Foundation was established by Ch. Abdul Rehman (late) and Dr. Fazal ur-Rehman and is currently working under the supervision of Prof. Akhtar Hussain”, we are going to re-organize ourselves.
In the past we executed successful projects under different organizations (for example Aliabad Social Welfare Society) in the profound leadership of Ch. Abdul Rehman (late) but unfortunately none of them could survive due to one or the other reason. This time we would be a bit careful and work together establishing a self-sustained organization which would target to have assets worth in millions (InshaAllah)!
We expect each and every member of our families and our friends to contribute and use their potential to make the project successful and self-sustained. We need your full support to achieve our combined goals. As soon as an idea comes to our mind we should materialize it immediately after discussing it on the table. Organization of the work will play a vital role in speedy improvement as we see it.
Projects in progress
- A science lab has been established along with the appointment of a talented Science Teacher at High School Aliabad by Aliabad Education Foundation.
- A second teacher has been appointed to assist the Science Teacher and reduce his teaching load. The new teacher is computer-literate.
- Girls Primary School Hotran Balikot – Aliabad Education Foundation has appointed a female teacher with a monthly salary of Rs. 3000/-. In the long run we need a permanent solution through Department of Education.
- We have been awarding scholarships to the university students from Aliabad who were able to pass the admission test and could not afford their tuition fee and other expenses. We will continue these awards on merit basis as the Yuniversity Education for our Youth (YEY) is an integral part of the socio-economic and scientific/technological development process.
- Almarai Aliabadi’s at UAE under the guidelines of Ch. Abdul Ghafoor, one of the directors and Secretary of ALEF, are planning to provide some 6~8 computers along with a printer, scanner, digital camera, power saver etc. with necessary accessories to our high school at Aliabad. We will also include 2 computers in this lot to make it 10. This was a great news as it will bring a visible change in the education system we hope. Computer literacy and internet are highly essential tools for the on-going education process. Waseem Gohar, one of the directors of ALEF, has kindly agreed to take care of the computer-literacy program at High School Aliabad.
Proposed project for Govt. Girls Middle School Aliabad (most important)
We have three women graduated or graduating soon ready to be got appointed in Aliabad Girls Middle School:
- Haleema Abdul Rehman: Currently she is doing her MA English at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad who was facilitated by Aliabad Education Foundation to get admission and was sponsored in her first semester at NUML. We have to further sponsor her for B.Ed. from PAF College of Education immediately after she graduates from NUML.
- Raheela is already doing B.Ed. from Allama Iqbal Open University. We have to motivate her to expedite her graduation and would sponsor her for M.Ed. from PAF College of Education. She already has one year learning experience at NUML.
- Aasia Zahid is already a B.Ed. (ready to go first but we need her domicile from Abbottabad)) and might get admission in MA or M.Ed.
We understand that it is not an easy job to get them appointed in the Girls Middle School but we have to start at some point. This project is highly important and if we don’t do it now then forget about Girls Middle School Aliabad. In reality there is no Girls Middle School at Aliabad right now (apparently there is one and everybody can see it!!!).
We hereby propose to establish a planning and reforms committee consisting of the following directors of ALEF to find a permanent solution to this problem:
- Engr. Gul Rehman (Chairman)
- Ch. Sabir Hussain
- Prof. Ayesha Mustafa
Although this is a non-trivial project on the ground, we request Engr. Gul Rehman to start working on this project with the help of Sabir, Dr. Zafeer, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan or other political leaders of the area.
Proposed future project – Aliabad Education Foundation College
Although we will initially focus on the above mentioned projects, establishment of Aliabad Education Foundation College at Aliabad is in the pipeline of ALEF.
More changes are to come in near future. Any further advice or suggestion may be redirected to the President, and/or Secretary of the Board of Directors.

I am in a state of amusement by having a look on the description on this page ,which examplifies the “Helping by educating” for the people of circle bakote. I see utmost desire, commitment and missionary thoughts from Prof. Akhtar Hussain and his team of directors in order to make this project a success. I have no option but to appreciate them in this noble cause and appreciate the fatigue and effort they they are making to make the projects like ALEF happen. when completed, i am sure, this project will be sufficient to change the destiny of people of this area, and will help them to earn, learn and govern the nation with their own wisdom. Thank you so much for drawing to one of the most challenging problems in our society, cheating and plagiarism in exams: Cheating and plagiarism are behavior whose consequences could lead to a failure of society. Therefore we need to find a solution for this “virus”. I call it a virus because it can spread rapidly among students and infect even those students who never tried to cheat before. They may begin to cheat when realize their classmates do not work hard yet they receive a better grade without any problem. Since the teacher and school do not take a serious concerted action to stop this virus. This can spread easily not just within classrooms and school but also throughout society at large.
The sooner we stop this virus from spreading among our students the less damage to society. Serous penalties should be imposed to stop plagiarism and cheating.

This is very good initiative indeed and an addition to efforts towards the nation building. I am of the opinion that we, as a nation, are not lacking resources rather we are lacking in good character in our society. Once we have good character, we can be the best nation. However, if we do not show that character which is required to lead the world, we will be dominated and lead by others who would be better than us in human values.
Its only Proper EDUCATION which can help us build our character and raise our social and moral values. With proper education, we can achieve the real confidence and not pride. The real confidence comes only from true FAITH in Allah. If we do not know about the world around us and how it works, we will not be able to realize the knowledge and powers of Almighty Allah and we will be always impressed by worldly things which can give us pride but not confidence.
Seeking knowledge is obligatory as per our Islamic teachings. The reason for this not to seek knowledge to conquer the world but to know the source of real power who controls the whole universe even beyond the human perception. With proper education, we know the world around us and link our understanding to the teachings of Quran and Islam to develop the true character we need to overcome our social, political and financial problems.
As a suggestion to this effort, I recommend that education system MUST incorporate the concept of character and faith building and should not merely focus on passing the exam with high marks. This will help us generate more useful nation in all aspects of life even those who do not become engineers, doctors and scientists. Further, we must integrate society and parents and educate them about the benefits of education. They should keep in mind that this real investment both in this world and in the Hereafter as per our Islamic teachings.
Also, organize and arrange inter-school competitions in the area and going beyond the region of your current focus to create harmony in the society as we aim to SPREAD LOVE AND NOT HATRED among people and our education should do very cause. Every one of us can play a role. We are not parents at home or teachers at school, we do these duties 24 hours a day, 7 days and week and 365 days in year with a mission in mind that whatever we do and whatever we speak affects us and those around us both in this world and in the Hereafter.
